The Free Preview
A framed Shadow Pets sculpture costs $299 USD. You only pay once you have seen and approved a free digital preview of your exact piece. Nothing is charged before that.
Upload a single clear photo of your pet. Our studio generates a digital preview of your sculpture within minutes. You can refine the preview as many times as you like at no cost. Once you approve it, we begin handcrafting the physical piece, which ships in its frame 2–3 weeks later.
No. A single clear, well-lit photo from your phone is enough. There is no photo shoot required, and you will see exactly how it turns out in the free preview before paying anything.
Refine it as many times as you'd like, completely free, until it looks right. You're never charged until you approve a piece for production.
Craft, Materials & Editions
Every relief is sculpted in a fine matte archival composite, then hand-sanded, hand-painted, and sealed in our studio. It is mounted in a deep-profile timber shadow box frame behind crystal-clear, shatter-resistant acrylic glazing (the same glazing galleries select when art travels) and arrives in a rigid magnetic-closure presentation box with a fitted foam cradle.
Three editions: Canvas, a matte-white relief in a natural timber shadow box; Porcelain, the same white relief in a white frame, white on white, defined by shadow alone; and Obsidian, a deep charcoal relief in a black frame. All three use the same materials and hand-finishing process.
You can order a separate sculpture for each pet. Start a new upload for each one, and each gets its own preview, approval step, and price.
Memorials & Sympathy Gifts
Yes. Many customers commission a piece specifically as a memorial or remembrance keepsake for a pet who has passed. Because it is sculpted from a single photograph, it works well from an existing photo of a pet no longer here, and the finished piece is a permanent, framed physical object rather than a digital file. For other memorial ideas, see our guide to pet memorial ideas.
It is one of the more personal pet-loss gifts available, since it is made from that specific pet's photo rather than being generic. If you are commissioning it as a gift, you can upload a photo the pet's owner already has and choose whether to reveal the preview to them as a surprise.
Yes. Most orders are art pieces of pets that are still very much around. The process is identical either way: one photo in, a framed sculptural portrait out.
